Was thinking about getting my tips put back on...

I used to have the nicest tips... acrylic nails. Would keep them somewhat short, very soft square, always white on white french manicure. Been without them for about a year now and though my natural nails are nice, nothing compares to the tips.

The cost is not so bad - it is about 25$ - 35$ (20% extra for tip) for the set and about 15 - 20$ (again add 20% for gratuity) fills (maintanence).

My nails grow very slowly so I could stretch the maintanence out to 3 weeks if necessary.

Downside - I HATE that drill. And sitting there for a few hours sucks butt. I HATE manicures (one of the UN-gurly things about me), but you get them done and the nails are beautiful until next time.

Upside - MEN LOVE THEM..... truth be told, I really like the way they look too. I don't NEED them either... like I said, my natural nails are very nice.

So what do you think?

Why must you sit for hours to get your nails done? I get overlays. Incase you don't know, an overlay is when they put a layer of acryllic over your own natural nail to strengthen your nail. The length is all naturally yours. Anyways, my little vitenamese guy doesn't drill my nails for hours. I'm in and out of the place in about 40 mins.

Go for the tips, BTW. :)

Nicely put.

Personally I am not into the polished nail look. I am a pretty low maintenance guy so I don't like high maintenance things like nails, make-up, and I really don't like perfume, but if you like them then by all means you should get them. Since in the end it really only matters what you like.

Werd I was thinking of getting my done again. I stopped doing it for a while but my hands looks so much better when they are done. I can get a full set with air brush for $20 and fills with air brush for $15. I used to go once every two weeks for a set and pedicure. Hmm now you got me think.

Funny you should say this...I just got mine done over the weekend...(damn it's hard to type with them) - I'll get used to it though. I usually get them done in the warmer months. Mine are pretty long but instead of french manicure, I get American which definitely looks more natural than the bright whites. American is more subtle. It only takes 40-45 mins for mine!

What does an American look like? I've not heard of that before.

And beastboy - not overseas for the moment. Had to rush home to take care of serious issues. Once they are resolved properly will head out again WITH everything that I should have never left... regardless of how good the reasons or "plan" was. And who knows where we might end up? The world is our oyster.

I used to do French all the time...but tried American & now I'll never go back. American looks like the natural white in your nails right now...it's not BRIGHT like the french which makes it look FAKE. Try it, you'll love it! :qt:

MissJanet - thanx for the suggestion. I'll ask about it. My skin is bit olive (though I am caucasion) and my coloring dark so I always got white on white which looked very nice. I hardly ever wear makeup (too damned lazy LOL) and my hair is natural looking too... so the "glam" of the manicure gave me a little "sumthin' sumthin" :qt:
 
An American manicure is painted on instead of airbrushed. It's very pale and resembles the natural coloring of white/pink of your nails.

Mrs Y ( a beautiful blue eyed blonde LOW maintenance woman) just surprised me
with getting these acrylic nail things done..
She's suddenly all into it even though she's always kept her nails short.
(horseback riding and all)

Something in me says "yee haa woman that is hot".
Especially when she scratches my back with them claws..

I say go for it and get the toes done as well..
You never know about those Euro pimps being into whatever..

They work nicely on taints as well.

Truth be told, I want to look pretty for one really special guy. He already thinks I am pretty without them, but I wanted to do something to be a little prettier just for him.

(OK - keep the gagging comments to a minimum.)
 
a girl lacerated my right sack once with her nails..........stung for weeks every time i had a shower. Now i demand no-hands blow jobs........looks hornier too.

Got 'em done... no ball scratching here as I always opt for a very soft square shape - no points or sharp edges.

I got the doubled edged white on white french which I am not too crazy about. I like the plain simple elegant single line. They looked at me funny when I asked about the american... could be the fact that they were from Taiwan! LOL.

My hands look so odd after not having had them for such a long time. They are a little too long and I am not quite pleased with the shape (i feel they are too square). I will have them modify that when I go back and just get the straight up French airbrush w/white over the top to make the edges of the design look even softer.

I can't wait for my kids to see! They would like it so much when "mommy looked pretty."

I for one couldn't care less about a girl's nails. It signals to me that she might be high maintenance. Not always true, but there are other things a girl can do to glam herself up before nails.
