This a note to all of the people that think they know it all. That think that Iran will be a short war.

Critics already say that a war with Iran would be WWIII. I would like to take a moment to give you something to think about. It might even scare you.

Throughout the war with Iraq, Iran has sent its fighters into Iraq to fight the US there. It has paid fighters money to blow themselves up (money goes to families.)

Anywar with Iran will be fought, on Iranian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Venezuelan, Mexican and US soil. Any kind of war this size, will be difficult for the US to fight. Our troops would be stretched more thin than they are now. In order to fight on these many grounds we will need a draft.

A draft would most certainly NOT happen. There would be little point. It takes time to turn out a fully qualified troop. It is not as simple as sending a person to basic training and then sticking them in the field to fight. It requires specific job related schooling and there is much more upgrade training needed after that. The US is stretched thin on troops but not as badly as you may think. The Air Force for example is still cutting people to reach its alotted numbers, there are too many. The Army is reaching its recruiting goals, at least last I read which was not long ago and with the UN taking over operations in Afghanistan that will free up many more troops. We would have support from our allies if anything actually kicked off with Iran regardless of what may get said now. Leaders would not want a drafted person anyway. The all-volunteer force works much better. If you don't want to be in the military then just don't do as you are told, probably spend minimal amount of time in the brig if any, and you are out again. Also, during the first 6 months of service charges such as tha would be classified as "faluire to adapt" which would give you a general or under honarble conditions discharge. Most everyone who was drafted would be right back out so it would be a waste of time and money for this to happen, the military leaders know this and would never want a draft to occur. The days of the draft are long over........

The army met their goal of recruiting 80,000 people this year, and all these people signed up knowing about Iraq and conditions in the middle east.

You people talking about "Why can't we just Nuke EVERYBODY!!!" are the most ignorant people I've ever seen. You don't Nuke anyone unless you get nuked lol. Hitting Iran, or any other Middle Eastern country with a Nuclear weapon will turn the worlds opinion against the USA, so it will never be done, and can't be done. Not to mention killing millions of innocent people just trying to get by and raise their families.
