How or why?

lol...good point.

Onerep...he must have a very high diving board. I would think it would be very hard to time himself so that he would be feet down during his backwards flip. Still amazed that he did it.

btw thats just 180 backflip, i have seen people do 360, but with skies on and on snow going atleast 30 miles/hr.

I am still not impressed. I have seen guys on the diving team do shit like that.

Forget the back flip part, that is irrelevant because anything you do in the air is only as good as your landing. He did a controlled landing, hit the background, rolled back, let momentum disperse the impact in a fluid motion.

i would call it a 25 to 30 foot drop. fisheye lens. landing in that mulch stuff helps a lot too. still, i cant take anything away from that guy.

I agree - the perspective (with the short dude appearing to stand next to the thing-but really behind it) makes it look rediculously high... at most I would say 25-30 feet...

depending on how tall the jumper is maybe only 20-25 feet...

but still high and props to the guy....

the effect is part optical illusion to make it look like 40-50 feet high....
