im willing to bet two months salary that you have made generalizations in your life. it may not be about a race, it may have been a good generalization but that really doesnt change the fact of why you made the generalizations, the concept is the same and that is that generalizations hold some truth.

i know thats hard for people to accept especially when dealing with sensitive issues.

Apples and oranges. MY sarcastic post was pointing out rather succinctly that since Robert Jan had little experience or contact with the people he was generalizing, his point was moot.

What rantings about illegal immigration are you referring to? The only thread on that I can recall was BRR pwning DJ_UFO and the only comment I made was something along the lines of agreeing with BRR.

It is one thing to have a intelligent conversation about a controversial topic. Will some people get upset? Of course. That said, one does not have to be ignorant to be controversial.

if i had to descibe the importance of conversation i would graph it, with time on the left and agreeability on the bottom. id give it a positive slope maybe even a slight exponential curve up. dont know why i say that but there you go.

My sentiments exactly. Breaking into a store for food, water, propane, emrgency items can be rationalized. Grabbing a 35" HDTV cannot. Or a Marlin 30-30, for that matter? Why grab the guns, so you can prevent lawlessness?

Another person made a quote, "Well, WalMart's insured". Where do you think these companies get the money to pay insurance premiums? Insurance is going to go up, increasing overhead, increasing price point. By stealing a TV, the looters are screwing themselves by raising thier costs on consumables.

BTW, this looting isn't a racial issue, it's a decadence of society in crisis issue. Five bucks says a bunch of meth heads would be doing the same thing if this happened in Phoenix, Arizona.

Why grab a gun? Maybe to defend yourself, your family, and your property, those are a few good reasons. People have to defend themselves, calling 911 is not going to help much. As far as the racial makeup of the looters, I'm just sticking with the facts. Most of the looters are black, there are no images of large numbers of white people looting because the looters are mostly black. Get it? I'm sure that meth heads in Phoenix could loot with the best of them, but the current situation is in 'Orleans.
