The whole deal with racism falls or stands with whether you can generalise or not. Supposedly, in the PC line of thinking, you can´t say- Blacks are less smart and more criminal than whites- because there are exceptions to it.

There´s exceptions to anything. It makes no difference. Men are taller than women. Even if Danny Devito is shorter than Angelina Jolie. Generalisation is the first step to understanding the world and ignoring marginal exceptions is essential to the entire hermeneutic intellectual field.

In your field, innocents get locked up sometimes, but it´s decided that that is worth it to lock up all the guilty people. On the same count I could decide that black people are poorer, dumber and more criminal than I am and adopt that as an outlook on their demographic.

A WHOLE OTHER separate debate deals with the question of whether this difference is genetic or environmental. No real conclusions are there, little research is done and few want to open that can of worms. Despite this opinion of mine, I do not disrespect or discriminate against blacks in any way that matters. I don´t get in their way or insult them or act inpolitely. In my mind I have my thoughts and the main characteristic I will remember about that person I saw is they were black.

This is Belgium btw. I live in a student town with few non students living here. Blacks are few and far between and most dont even speak the national language.

so in a nutshell what are you saying, the exceptions to generalizations are for the ignorant.

People suck. Race, nurture, nor religion have anything to do with the aforementioned fact. When there is a vacuum of authority, society will ALWAYS turn out the same way. Some will loot to survive, some will loot to profit, some will rise up as corrupt power, some will defend the weak, and some will sit on the side of the street and die. not sure what your point is. do you assume automatically because it was projected to be the worst strom in history that that automatically discounts the theory that some blacks may have intentionally stayed to loot.

72 hours by public transportatoin and FINDING everyone who is calling in a state of emergency and panic isn't enough time.

this is what people need to understand. two weeks would have maybe been enough time.

if you watched the news before the storm hit you would have saw I-10, bumper to bumper at a dead crawl. literally impossible for people to continue getting to it. not to mention anyone ever drove that part of I-10 knows it in itself is a shitty ass highway and only contributes to the problems.

72hours IS NOT enough time to evacuate that area.
