There is a lot of misinformation here.
Fisrt off, Accutane does place stress on the liver. Period. That CAN manifest itself as liver problems. Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not. There are a lot of variables. But it DOES create an additonal stress.
So, it MAY be an issue. If you want to get really technical, I would think that you would especially want to stay away fro Oral AS while on accutane.
I for one would stay off gear while on Accutane.
Next issue.
Doing Accutane for 12 weeks is NOT correct. Any doc, or anyone telling you to only do it that long is wrong. Sure, it will clear you up. For NOW. But the dudes that do these 12 weeks cycles of it, well. ........ you will hear many of them say "my acne started to come back after a year .....".
Right. Becuase it was not run long enough. You need to do like 4-6 MONTHS.
Accutane can also rasie triglyceride and cholsterol levels a LOT. Trust me, I have seen people with Chol levles of like 180-190 have theirs shoot up to 325+ while on Accutane. IT HAPPENS.
Now, normally, for a brief time period in an OTHERWISE HEALTHY PERSON, this is not a great problem. Yes, high cholseterol does create additional stress on various systems, but its greates problem is LONG TERM< cumulative effects from high Chol - thats where you get the plaque on your arteries, etc. And long term stres son the heart. So, NORMALLY, having like a 300+ Chol level for a WHILE is not that big of a deal.
BUT,
If you are on a heavby duty AS ccycle, you are creating another stress. Higher blood pressure, more stres on your systems, etc. Now, all of a sudden, that temporary raise in Chol level, which by itself was no big deal, now becomes kinda dangerous. High Chol, High BP, TREMENDOUS stres due to balls-out worksouts ..... this is how normally healthym young, active people end up with heart attacks, arteris bursting, anurisms, stc.
Now, yeah ...... sure ..... look, chances are this will not happen. True. But you ARE "adding up" the risk factors ... and your number just MAY come up.
Think guys, uh ....... lets see ........ most healthy people that have had heart attacks at like age 28, or brain anurisms at age 30 ........ uh ........ well ....... THEY never though it wouold happen to them either.
So, its just an added risk. Take it or not.
But 12 weeks on Accutane - that's almost a waste of time. Besides, the hard part is weeks 2-5 anyway, it gets easier.
Yes, my typing sucks ass, I know. LOL
