Volvo s60

Anyone else feel this vehicle, or have one? How do volvo's do as a commuter car?

Admittedly, I like the idea of being the first 20-something on the block ('block' in a broader sense) with one, over the A4's and 3-series.

tight as all get out.

wouldn't mind picking one up myself

it is awd I assume?

post up the engine and performance specs if you have them!

Yup, the AWD 2.5T would run a little over $30K

Transversely mounted, 2.5-liter, 5-Cylinder, double-overhead cam, Turbocharger with Intercooler
Horsepower (SAE net) 208 @ 5,000 rpm
Torque (ft./lbs. SAE net) 236 @ 1,500 rpm

How do these specs measure up?

208 is light on the hp side for a car that heavy, but they are famous for getting spunk out of their 5 cylinders.

I'm sure the turbo makes a big difference.

I'd go with the volvo based on its safty, comfort and originality.

Yeah I just got one in May. It's a 2004 S60 T5 (so not the "R" your pics are showing). I think the "R" is even faster, but let me tell ya, the twin turbo is pretty damn fast too. It's definitely faster than the BMW 328i I drove before and that fucker was a rocket ship.

Make sure you get the top of the line stereo. It KICKS ASS (even compared with the BMW). I kept it running on full blast and closed the door one of the first days I had it (I was buying a soda or something at a gas station) and I was thinking WHAT THE PHUK IS THAT? The entire car was s-h-a-k-i-n-g from the base. Hell yeah!

The only thing I miss with the BMW is the stick shift, but the Volvo is a much nicer car for longer trips. It's s-m-o-o-t-h...

No regrets whatsoever.

The car is actually smaller than you think. It's a tiny bit bigger than the BMW 3-series. It's not heavy.

I paid $39k ($1k over invoice) for my T5. Fully loaded. The only thing I didn't get was the map thing simply because you'd have to have the CD changer in the trunk if you get that. Hell no.

That sux. I'm torn on that now, I'm in want of the navigation

you're able to buy an s60 and pay the taxes in staten island? shit, how big is the yacht? ;)

I know, it's a frivolous purchase for me, when I should be saving. I believe they called it "ni**a rich" in the film boiler room.
