Virus?

I have a question reguarding a virus. I was sent a virus from an enemy of mine. Yes it's true I have enemies. Anyway I have a good anti-virus so it caught it. If I save this virus, you know right click\save as, can this be saved without causing problems in the hard drive? Can it be accidently attached to future emails or attached on purpose?

Something about a worm. But I thought that the worm came out after I got the letter. It was sent over a year ago.

Save it as a Text file. *.txt.

Worms can be programmed to sit around check the time then after a while go off.
