Virus Help

I can't seem to get rid of this virus. I'm running windows 98 and I have a worm called W32/kwbot. I've updated my virus software and it won't let me clean or delete them. It has infected a large number of files that I didn't know were even on my computer. I've ran a few stinger programs, but it fails to clean the worm. Is there anything I can do short of formatting? I don't have an OS disk so I want to use formating as my last option. Karma for help.

for future reference...if you do download something of Kazaa/P2P... virus scan it first.

Ya but I can't find the value Windows Explorer Update Build 1142

to delete in my registry
