that was the 1/4 the Viper was hitting below 12 seconds everytime and the Supra was about a half second to full second slower.

OK just watched it.
First of all the driver of the Supra did NOT know what he was doing. HE was doign mad burnouts on street tires! And you could hear the wheelhop he was getting coming out of the gate. Notice the Viper had slicks or at least drag DOT tires and was wisely avoiding the water pits and not doing burnouts.
Second of all notice in most races the Supra was catching the viper big time. The turbo lag was killing the Supra. It has much more pull at higher RPMs, the only way to combat that is launching at higher RPMs which the driver was not doing, and probably couldn't do on street tires. in a 1/2 mile race or even a 3/8 mile race the "Poopra" woudl haev won every time.
I am willing to bet the Viper was more modded than the supra. Witness the rear tires for one.
For the kind of money the owner of the Viper had spent I GUARANTEE you the Supra owner could have had a car that woudl run CIRCLES around the Viper.

lumberg and vector I hear you guys the supra driver was clueless, in the one race i belieave the 2nd you can hear the supra's blow off values, but they do not have the real pop that a supercharger or tubro engine has so my guess in not many mods. one of my boys has a hooked up supra that will run low 9's with me driving and mid to high 9 my friend driving.
If I had the money in each car I would take the supra and hook mad style, run 9's and still have 50k left for juice and pimp gear
