viewing movie DL'd off Kazaa????? HELP

Ok, I download an 80-90 minute movie... just say Pumping Iron for example... I am playing the movie and want to fast forward it to certain parts. Now on MOST movies you just click on the navigation bar at the point you want to jump to. But some don't let you do that.

How can I fast forward and skip parts? When I try it, it just jumps back to the original starting point, going nowhere.

Is there another program I can use to view it? I am using the Kazaa Theater which opens when you click on the downloaded movie.

Not sure but the Kazaa theater is really bad. I have been using real player for most things lately with success.

im not sure what causes it but i am pretty sure there is nothing you can do about it except look for another version.

i hate it when that shit happens, especially when its a porno.

To my knowledge, there are some sort of keys that are supposed to be placed throughout the movie so that you're able to fast forward and go directly to specific parts. I've run across many movies that don't let you move the navigation bar anywhere but the beginning. I don't think there's anything you can do about it except try to find a better copy of that movie. Not that that's what you want to hear.

Kazaa is great, but the player is shit. Use Media Player, or download the divx player.

The divix one? Well, it's possible that it does. lol I havn't used the current version, but v4.5 was great.

sometimes the media player wont let you fast forward it. try another player. i use zoomplayer and im able to fast forward on movies that i couldnt on mediaplayer.

if it's an ASF movie, I've never been able to fast forward. If it's another codec format, when you fast forward, you will jump to the next keyframe. The keyframe setting is adjustable when the movie is encoded and you'll just have to live with it.

If none of the above movie players don't fix the problem, you might want to try and transcode the movie into a different codec using VirtualDub

Sound like and ASF file. Maybe windows mean and you fast foward those. You just have a hit play and let it ride like you lost your DVD remote. I'd convert it to a different format. Also use a better movie player. If you don't like windows media player Zoom Player is very good.

OPEN UP YOUR SHARED FOLDER AFTER YOU DOWNLOAD IT, RIGHT CLICK THE FILE. CLICK ON "OPEN WITH" AND CHOOSE MEDIA PLAYER. WORKS FOR ME.
