I think this sort of thing is going to lead to a lot of escallation & pre-emptive strikes. Someone starts shit, & to avoid being the one surprised, people are going to start lashing out.
I can see this getting a lot worse if it's not curtailed.

Nah. Truth is violent crime and property crime are the lowest they've been since the early 70's. Unfortunately this sort or violence does happen and it is sick, but there will always be a situations when someone is at the wrong place at the wrong time.
