Very realistic.

Just yesterday, Bush said that we are in the first war of the 21st century.

Fred is basically full of crap and being sensationalist to get attention.
1) We weren't in a direct war/conflict with anyone to 'lose' to. We have foreign policies that obviously piss people off, but it's not a war. I don't think the world sees us as weak and helpless, more like 'Jesus, that same thing can happen to us!!'.
2) We can't stop it, but we can reduce the opportunity. Terrorism is not easily prevented.
3) It IS cowardly. It's also just plain evil. The guys flying the planes into civilian building aren't would I would describe as 'brave' outside of an all out war ion which that was their last option. I'd call it 'stupid'. When we bombed Hanoi and Hamburg, it was WAR. There is a difference.
4) It was pretty effective, no doubt. Personally, I'm not an epicene, so he needs to speak for himself. I doubt that most of the people on this board are epicenes, so you should take this as an insult. We should and will retaliate. Everyone knows it. Let them sweat it out for a few days/weeks. Do you think these nuts are sleeping well at night knowing we will get them?
5) These folks are reporting news, not editorializing.
6) I disagreee that we are run by women. Probably a lot of you do too. There is no concrete enemy to hit back at right now, but they will be revealed soon enough. Trust me.
7) We aren't at war with the Muslims. Just because a bunch of fruitcakes terrorize happen to be Muslim, 99.9% of the musilm people are peaceful and worry about getting food on the table. This kind os generalization is scary and racist.
8) Last I checked, we ARE a superpower. Perhaps we don't necessarily need a large ground force anymore becuase of technology. If his statement had merit, we would still be fighting with stones.
9) Actually, the bit about Afghanistan being a shithole is true. But I don't believe our troops would 'curl up in balls' in a conflict.
10) There is no comparison between this and Desert Storm amd Vietnam. There were tangible enemies in those situations.
11) Ask around the world. Are we militarily weak? Don't think so.
12) So he suggests we frame a slaughter people that may have nothing to do with this. He's a fucker and someone should take him out back and shoot him for implying this. BTW, last I checked Katy Couric wasn't in the military, or even employed by our governement. She's just a dumbass reporter.
