Very interesting article that supports my arguments

i agree, its not going as well. but that doesnt mean its going bad. the madia pumped this war up and now the media is pumpimg up the failures. are there any articles that give predictions from the administration or the commanders??? did any of them say it was going to be a cake-walk???

how many coalition casualties are there???

how many iraqi casualties are there???

It's always too difficult to predict how the civilian population will react to an invading force.....i don't think anyone expected rose petals.

The media can make you or break you in many walks of life........as soon as they start this speculation about how bad the war is going it gains momentum and everyone starts asking questions.

I agree with Sponge

Yes, while no one came out and said done deal in a week or two, they kept telling us how they expected them to be surrendering in droves, how they were not happy, etc. The war plan as it has unfolded tells the tale that they thought it was going to be a cake walk.

No one is listening, I am not say it is bad, but it is not good. We will win, but this is only the beginning. I said we needed more troops, and now we are sending them. I suspect by the time all said and done, you will have 750,000 plus US/Brits/Ausies choking the shit out of Baghdad and woe be it if they use chemicals.

haha! i liked that "choking the shit out of baghdad" comment.

i think they did count on too many things to go thier way. and the fact that turkey refused to allow troops stationed there. too many unpredictables in this thing. i hope it does end soon with minimum casualties on both sides.

I don't think we are asking questions based on what the media is saying. We are seeing the war in real time and even a novice at war can see where things are not going well.

That doesn't mean we doing bad, or that we will lose, but sniffing out a bad plan is rocket science here.

Me too, but I fear not. Especially now that Syria has been found to be supplying the Iraqi's with equipment and shit.

I don't think it's going the way we as Americans are used to. Everthing we see has to happen now or we think its a loss. I think we are trying to fight the gentalmans war. If we are going to succeed, we need to take the gloves off! I don't like the way we let the propaganda machine over the live! We say nothing, but they show every detail. Gainning the sympathy of all arabs now and turning this war into a conquring instead of a liberation of opressed people.

i say fuck this shit we eat birthday cake~~~~~~~! not my birthday! yours! who cares im hungry and it tastes!! give me yor frosting!

I joked with a Brit today about how they complained about the way we fought the Revolutionary war, hiding in bushes and trees, dressing in civies to blend in, using snipers to kill them. While they wore red, marched in the open in straight lines, etc.

I am seeing a grim similarity here in the complaints about the tactics being used by the Iraqi military? Hmmm, the Brit's lost that war...

I agree! We are marching in there like we own the place, big as you please, fish in a barrel! Arrogance will get you killed.

Yes. All of the administration chief chickenhawks -- Rumy, Cheney and Perle -- said it would be easy going. The UN ambassador literally called it a cakewalk.

I posted their comments on another thread.

ok i'll look at it again. but are you telling me that after a whole 10 days that we have not met a large amount of our objectives. 10 whole days. and how many US casualties? under 30. and because the media is pumpimg up every mistake or deviation from the original plan that insuates that things are not a cake walk? just this morning ive noticed a change in media coverage from yesterday.

we have encountered regular military, irregular military, militiamen, civilians, and some of the republican gaurd. and we have almost complete control of 3/4 of the country and we have control of the ports as well as over 600 oil wells. and we have only lost 30 or so casualties. i may not classify that as a cake walk but its certainly close.

minimal losses does not equate to a cake walk! The Marines have had to fight battles as fierce as those in our history to secure each and every square inch of territory and we haven't even begun the seige of Baghdad.

And they are now sending in another 140,000 troops. Hmmmmm. The body count for us is over 50 now. Still very good, but wait till Baghdad. That number will be a distant memory.

Chesty, what do you think we should be doing?

Should we have done more air bombing before sending in the ground troops?

Seems to me we are being way too nice and it is putting our soldiers in harms way.

never said it was, i listed it as one of many variables that could be used to determine how good the war is going. we have invaded another country, thier homeland, and within the first 5 or 6 days we had secured the ports, control 95% of the airspace, control over 600 oil wells, and basically marched right up to baghdad with minimul loss of life.

it was estimated that we had control of approx. 3/4 of the land within 5 or 6 days. im sorry but there has not been fiercing fighting to control everything i have mentioned. there have been some pockets of strong resistance with tenacious fighters(retards just running and gunning, no strategic moves at all).

now they are bombing the hell out of the republican gaurd.

Yeah, but almost all that land is desert.

I agree with Chesty, shit is gonna get bad.

Yes we have, but if planned better that large amount could very well have been close to the full amount in total instead.
