No one is forcing you to use your SSN and DL other than what it's intended for. Now whether the SSN and DL's were designed purely to placate businesses is another matter.

You and I can go through life keeping our SSN and DL only for it's intended usage -- that is our right -- but our consequent inability to do ANYTHING of value with corporate america will pretty much force us to live a very lackluster standard of living.

If lack of implants required you and I (in the future) to possibly lead a very lackluster standard of living (eg: all new credit card applicants require an implant) -- then yes, you and I would also have no choice but to "sign up".
