Vegetables bad at late night times?

I just finished a huge bowl of lettuce, a bit of vineagar, salsa and jalpeono's [sp?] and its almost 11:30 pm hahaha good snack im full now.

Bad or good? I forgot to consume vegetables all day and tried to get it before the end of the day.

bad? not as bad as a bowl of ice cream. Its got carbs which you try to avoid at night but theyre from veggies and theres prob fiber in there too so i dont see it as that bad. They say youre supposed to consume a slow digesting protein late night like nonfat cottage cheese.

dont listen to this garbage............it's fine...carbs are fine at night....christ there is some horrid info on these boards.......I eat a lb of peanuts and a shake 5 minutes before bed every night....and some cottage cheese......and whatever else.

1 lb of peanuts? lol isn't that a big much? :chomp:

I hope veggies before bed aren't bad, that or a shake are usually one of my last meal's.

Again, for the umpteenth time, if you are in an energy deficit, any type of nutrient intake will be used.

There is no magic witching hour where your body shuts down from carb digestion and says, anymore, and it will be turned to fat! ;)

^^I agree.

Just a general comment ... I try to avoid any complex carbs in my last meal (unless if directly after PM training). I typically stick to Protein + Fat before bed. Helps me sleep much better too.

yo kurz...garbage????...Im saying for fat loss carbs before bed may not be the best choice. And before anyone says it..No he did not speak of fat loss in his original post.

I have lost 157 lbs. eating every night before i go to bed. I eat tons of veggies too like a HUGE salad with tons of vegtables and I lost all that weight

Eating salad isnt a bad option before hitting the sack however there are better choices out there. Although salad could be classified as a fibrous carb it doesnt have much nutrients in it, therefor opt for a vegetable like brocolli and something with casein protein ex. cottage cheese, add some EFAs and you got yourself a perfect bedtime meal. All these together will give your body the nutrients its needs as you sleep. Also they are slow digesting so your body can feed off them during the 8-10 hours that you sleep at night. Then first thing when you wake up consume a protein shake in water and some complex carbs ex. oatmeal, I just grind up 1 cup of oatmeal and down it in my shake. This way your body can quickly absorb the protein and can go from a catabolic state to a anabolic state. Wait a half hour and proceed to your breakfast:)
