vegatable oil on CKD

audiophyle

New member
can I use crisco vegatable cooking oil instead of flax oil on a CKD? 14g fat 0 protein 0 carbs per tablespoon.

I personally think it tastes better and its cheaper.

Also, to keep from starting a new thread, could anyone tell me if these numbers sound right.
I'm 200lbs, 6'4" and i'm gonna be eating around 2200 calories per day. 173grams fat 152grams protein, and 8 grams of carbs. Is there anything wrong with this or does it all sound about right. I dont want to fuck up and get fat, its been a long ride trying to lose all of this weight in the first place.
thanks

Your ratios are 71% fat, 0.28% pro, and 1% carb. I'd increase your protein - you're not even eating 1 gram/1 lb bodyweight. I actually increase protein when I'm cutting - my current ratios are 45-50% fat, 45-50% pro, 2-3% carb. For example, yesterday my ratios were 46% fat, 3% carb, 51% pro. This works very well for me.

I thought you were supposed to have lower than normal amounts of protein while on ckd?
Well my total calories are pretty much maxed out on this diet so if i was gonna add more protein, i'd need to cut out some of the fat. Should I get rid of some of the bacon and replace it with tuna?

By the way, is that you in your pic? If it is, wow!!;) you've got killer abs.

yes, you should have slightly lower protein intake during a keto diet...you should be around 30% protein and 70% fat. Mr.X also states that 15% protein is enough to preserve muscle on a keto diet, because ketone bodies are protein sparing.

Crisco is a HORRIBLE choice for fats- stick to Udo's oil, flax, natural peanut butter, olive oil, and fish oils. You need to take advantage of these fat sources for their omega 3 fats.
