lol - I thought the same thing.
the preview starts off and I just thought it was a whole lotta suck of just some romance, but then it got really cool with twists and the like... and they were playing chemical brothers, which is never bad.

And Cameron Crowe is an amazing romantic spirit! Say Anything, Singles, Jerry Maguire ... it's an obligation to see anything that man comes up with.

It's not out 'til the 19th I think, but I know people who've seen it and they say it's amazing. The plot is too strange to describe, but it has to do with Karma and destiny.
Basically, Tom Cruise is a rich playboy asshole who gets into a car crash and ends up disfigured. This is like the tip of the iceberg. He gets charged with murder at some point....and goes crazy for a while. But that's just superficial stuff. There's waaaaay more going on.
There's an amazing scene where Cruise walks through a deserted Times Square. Busiest intersection in the world, and they shut it down. Took 4 days, and they shot the scence in about 2 hours. I heard it took about 15% of the budget just to do that.
I'm going to that mofo on opening night. That and Lord of the Rings.
