Valium or Xanax. Which do you prefer?

By the way, did you know that back before amphetamines were more tightly controlled they made pills that contained both dextroamphetamine and a barbiturate? Klonopin is better than xanax. A longer acting benzodiaprem. I like pain pills myself. Strong pain pills kill emotional as well as physical pain. They are highly addictive so I don't mess with them. But every time I have taken one, well--- I can see why so many people are addicted to them.

One question I haven't got answered. A doctor told me that you can take Xanax or Klonopin your entire life and they will not shorten your life span. If that's the case, what's the problem with pain pills. There no more addictive than xanax and they make you feel even better. Yet, doctors do not like to prescribe them long term, they must be harmful long term. But I don't know.

My former boss- the owner of both Gold's Gyms in this area- had a mega xanax addiction for a couple of years. He was a mess. He was out of it all the time, made weird business decisions, and everybody thought he was dumb as a box of rocks. He almost lost his gyms. He finally kicked the habit a year ago and is doing really well now. I don't see why anyone would want to be on that stuff permanently. Nobody can relate to you and you find your friends drifting away.

It is a great drug is you suffer from generalized anxiety that affects your ability to function in life, or panic attacks.

BTW, xanax and valium are VERY addictive so don't use them as sleeping tablets on a regular basis - use Zopiclone or another modern hypnotic to get to sleep.
Opiates could theoretically ADD 10 years to your life by slowing metabolism and so on!The problem with opiates and benzos is the addiction part.that's why they are controlled.

Well,it's the illegality of the drugs and inability to get the drugs without resorting to crime that brings them down.
If a heroin user was cared for,given food,good clean heroin,regular medical checkups and so forth they could theoretically live very long.The drug itself isn't very toxic to the body or mind.Of course you could OD and die due to respiratory depression but that is often due to the unknown potency of the street drug.
Xanax is great for sleeping, even after taking an ECA you can still zonk out at even a dose of 1 mg. (for me anyways). Valium is funner during the day as it makes me mellow as hell, but vicodin is my all time favorite. Jeez this makes me sound like a junkie (but I'm just an experimenter I swear

1mg Xanax = 40mg of Valium (4 10mg pills)
So Xanax is roughly 4 times stronger. Both have very similar effects.
As for the Pain Killers vs. Benzos Addiction argument...
Benzos *may* be more addictive, HOWEVER, it takes a while to get addicted to Xanax, Valium, etc. You can get addicted to shit like Vicodin or Oxycontin in 1-3 weeks. Morphine, etc. even quicker.
On a side note...
About a month and a half ago, I was going to a party and had 2 Xanax in my pocket. I blazed a joint before we left, then started drinking beers. On the way to the party, which was 45 min away, we started getting tailed by a cop car. 5 people in the car, 4 open containers, no chance to throw them out. This cop was on us for a good 20 minutes with us doing the speed limit. For the first 10-15, there were no chances for him to pass (hills, curves, etc.) but once we hit a straightaway, I knew that if he wasnt tailing us, he'd pass us, but he didnt, so I figured we were getting pulled over for sure, so I downed the Xanax. Finally the pig turns off, and we get to the party. While I was there, I'm drinking rum like its going out of style. At one point, some of my posse whips out some Opium out of nowhere. I was already feelin fine, and after a few hits of Opium, I was absolutely loving life. A bunch of us guys and chicks decided to jump in the lake after that. After skinny dipping for 10-15, we got out. After that, I can only remember flashes of what happened, but I figured I must have been in super mack mode b/c one of the flashes was me with my arm around some chick and I remember making out with her. Next day I come to find out they'd rowed up to the dock when we were there, and I was laying the smooth pimpin down. So was one of my boys, so we'd taken these 2 chicks on a walk. We "were down for the fine ass pussy", but alas, they said no. We were like "WTF?! Why not?" Their reply: "We dont want to seem like ho's"....... HAHAHAHA! You come up and are all over 2 guys you just met and you dont wanna seem like ho's.... Anyway, after we ditched those tricks, I only remember walking to get my bottle of Bacardi from my friend who was on top of a Jeep Cherokee, drinking it straight from the bottle. He handed it to me, then passed out on top of the Jeep. I started laughing so hard I fell down a 6 to 8 foot ditch into a barbed wire fence HARD. 6" gash on my left arm, DEEP ass cut on my right shin, ripped my shorts. Get this....DIDNT FEEL IT. I dont remember anything after that, but I guess I'd been wandering around and fell on one of my friends tents, so he helped me in and I passed out.
Moral - Alcohol and Benzos dont really mix, kids. If you pop a bunch of Xanax and drink a bunch of liquor, dont expect to remember much.
