Ive done it more than I would have liked too. Nothing happened except I got very light headed and got the sweats for a few minutes but I was fine after a few minutes.

Even when you aspirate it is still very possible to get in vein. It can leak into vein that you passed through on the way in. But regardless your right, you must always aspirate.
