Vacation. Where should I go?

Night Fly

Hmm...I would love to take maybe a 5 day vacation somewhere this summer. I have never been to a place that has turqoise colored water...so I would love to go somewhere like that.

What's the neatest place that you have been to (like a Temptation Island type of place)?

Any recommendations? I hear there are a lot of all inclusive deals that are pretty good.

Take a cruise.:)

They are all inclusive and you get to visit more than one place.

Good idea...but how long do you get to stay at certain places?

I almost would love to just save up some money and go to one place and be able to do whatever. I have never been on a cruise, though. :)

I would say that it depends on how much you want to spend. Kronkette and I always take 1 week a year somewhere tropical. This year it will be Jamaica at Hedonism III, we have stayed at 3 other Super Clubs resorts in Jamaica. Check them out at www.superclubs.com. It costs more to go to Jamaica but in my mind it is worth it. We always stay at adults only resorts, so there are no kids around.

For a lot less money, you can go to Mexico. Personally we like the Mayan Rivera better than Cancun. We stay outside of Puerto Aventuras or Playa Del Carmen. The last few times we have been there we have stayed at the Aventura Palace. This again is an adults only resort. Check it out at www.palaceresorts.com

All of these are all inclusive and you don't have to pay for anything at all. Food, Booze, activities, tips, etc. In Jamaica YOU CAN NOT tip, no matter how hard you try. In Mexico they love it and will take all you can give.

I got a lot of trip reports on these places, if you want them let me know.

If you go to a larger island like Jamaica, you would have fun getting out and seeing the sites. If you go to a smaller island like Nassau, you will find that you spend most of your time in the resort complex itself, and that's like being on a ship.

Cruises I believe are usually there for a day or less at each stop.
It all depends on the cruiseline you're on. A lot of times that will be more than enough time to see what you want.

thanks Kronk! I will check those out! :)

No tipping...? That would be wonderful! :)

It really is the best. When we go to Jamaica, I just lock my wallet in the safe and dont pull it out unless we go shopping! WOO HOO!!

We travel quite a bit, so let me know if you ever want any detailed information.

B4L....

I think you are probably right on that. I guess you can either choose to be stuck at one place (the smaller island), or you can so somewhere that you can be in turquoise water and do stuff too!

Cape Town, S.A - absolutely beautiful and the ppl there are really friendly. Also, the exchange rate is amazingly in your favour at the moment so things there are even cheaper than usual. I go there every xmas - been going for 12yrs now.

Paradise Island - the name sums it up really. It's near Nassau, but much smaller and less touristy.

Atlantis is always a good choice too actually, especially if you like more active holidays.

Marbella, Spain - sun, sea sand ... the best seafood ever, good nightlife, loads of young people. And the town has had a load spent on it over the last few years so it's now really beautiful and has lost the tackiness it used to be associated with.

Majorca or Ibiza - where you stay there depends on what you're looking for. Both of the islands have areas full of huge clubs, all night parties and drunken, sex-crazed students tripping their tits off ... but there's also more secluded spots on the other side of the islands where you can dine out at cozy little seaview restaurants, sunbathe on beaches that are completely isolated save for yourself and do the 'romantic cultural' thing.

I haven't been but Barbadoes is somewhere I've always wanted to go too. Ppl I know who have been always say it's incredible.

Almost anywhere in the Caribbean is GREAT!

The Cayman Islands are great

Nevis - wonderful four seasons!

Paradise Island- (Atlantis) even more fun with the new addition

Mexico is fun!

Your best bet is a cruise ...you get to see several islands :)

I want to go to Barbados too! :wavey:

Five days is not enough time to go to Ibiza, but that would be my choice if you had a few more days. I recommend Puerto Vallarta -- it's cheap, really beautiful, great food, laid back.
