KneeShorts' Philosophy
The Culture War - welcome to our little corner of the battlefield!
Traditional values are under attack, including family, religion and any sense of morality. The charge is led by the entertainment industry with the battle cry "there is no evil, there is no shame!" And as morality dies, Hollywood loots our pockets, eagerly joined by its allies - the advertising and fashion industries.
Modest dress, as a traditional moral value, is an ongoing casualty of the conflict. Even "mainstream" retailers can't seem to resist abandoning principle for perceived profit. Abercrombie & Fitch aggressively exploits pornography to sell its clothes -
www.ccv.org/Press_Release-Abercrombie_ads.htm. Sears markets sexually provocative t-shirts to pre-teen girls - www.bbhq.com/cultwar.htm. Britney Spears - trendsetter, pre-teen idol, and poster child for immodest dress - is single-handedly responsible for widespread acceptance of ultra-low hip-huggers. Want to dress your six-year old daughter like a Britney/stripper look-alike? Shop at any department store!
KneeShorts refuses to participate in this downward spiral. We believe that successful businesses (even those selling apparel) can be built on principle. The principle to which we are dedicated is modesty. We promise not to sell low hip-huggers, teeny-weeny inseams, high slits, tank tops, or other immodest cuts of clothing. We hope that you will patronize KneeShorts' and prove to mainstream retailers that they do not need to carry immodest clothing to be successful!

Note on "modesty"
On occasion, a customer will ask whether KneeShorts' has adopted the "correct" standard of modesty. We believe that there are many legitimate standards for modest dress - some personal, others religious or institutional. We support any standard that attempts to promote modest dress. We aim to carry styles that will appeal to many standards of modesty - whether inspired by a school dress code or an individual's personal beliefs.
