Higher grade (quality). That's a qualitative assessment. As far as a quantifiable-ie HOW MUCH, better I dont know. Price will be more-obviously.

my understanding is thst it is usp of not! the numbers refer to the specific chapters of the law regulating the substance.

Nandi just covered this on CEM. A chemical is either USP grade or it isn't. The number is simply the edition, ie US Pharmacopoeia 24th edition.
