I like to have oatmeal first thing in the morning along with a protein shake. I was wondering if you guys think it would be okay to add very small amounts of dextrose to the oats to serve as a sweetener. I use dextrose after workouts (along with maltodextrin and protein) for quick replenishment of carbs anyways, so I figure since I just woke up from an 8 hr fast, the same idea of getting carbs in me quickly would apply--albeit in a much smaller amount. I can just as well use honey or something of that sort, but what are your thoughts on dextrose?
