Using a weightbelt all the time??

I've been using a belt for a while when it comes to back days but I noticed that when I wear my belt on my biceps day im able to use more weight than if I did not wear the belt.

My question: Even though Im wearing the belt and can lift more will that negatively effect gains at all or is it better to not use a belt? Just looking to what would help me get bigger faster, belt no belt?

My advice would be to ditch the belt for everything except a max effort lift. I never use one personally.

...And wearing a belt to do curls is just gay.

You are abusing the weight belt.....learn how to use your abs and brace your stomach. A weight belt is a tool to be used when nearing your maxes or attempting something very strenous (ex: 20rep squats). There should be no need for you to use it all the time.

I agree to a point. At your level a belt is a crutch.

For me if I am training a pull day where I do Cleans, High Pulls, GM's and Rack Pulls then I am belted up for the majority of the workout.

Al what is your training program like? Everytime you post I just nod my head, yes, yes, yes.

Are you a competitive O lifer?

Monday: Heavy Push Day

BTN Snatch Grip Press: warm up then 5-8 sets of triples or doubles.
Flat Bench: 5x5
Back Squat: 5x5, 1x3, 1x12

Tuesday: Light Pull Day

Power Clean: 5-8 sets of 3's
High Pull: 5x5
Snatch: 10x1

Thursday: Light Push Day

Flat Bench: 5x5, 1x3, 1x12
Rack Jerk: 5-8 x3
Front Squat: 5x5

Friday: Heavy Pull Day

Snatch Grip Deads: 5x5
Rack Pulls: 5x5
Reverse Hypers or GM's: 5x5

I Oly lift, but not at the Olympic level. I am a state level kind of guy. I made the switch from powerlifting a year ago.

I train in waves, or on a periodization plan that has 9 week waves. So I ramp volume from deloads like 65% for 2 weeks, 75% for one, 85% for one, then balls out for 5 weeks, then delaod, rinse, repeat.

Yeh dont be abusing the weight belt. Use it for near max or max lifts on certain things. When I see guys wearing a weight belt doing curls I lol.
