I really wish people would quit using the word " nigga"

All 15 of my dads are black. Or black and hispanic. Or black, hispanik and oriental. ect.

BIG CALVIN, I hear what your saying but if I don't want the other man calling me that I sure as hell am not going to let my own say that to me.My friends know how I feel about that and I have had to tell many youngsters, black and white and other shades not to talk that way in front of me.I get some crazy looks and I am not threatening anyone but it is not what you say to people, but how you say it.I am in the ARMY and I am deployed in MACEDONIA right now.These folks are killing each other over the fact that the REBELS want more rights and now demand the break up of the country so the albanian people can have more power. The MACEDONIAN government is not happy and talks broke off.Their army is SHELLING the hell out of rebels as I write this, you can see it on CNN later tonight.I have 45 more days here and I will be going to germany and to ft.benning and then to MIRAMAR.What I was trying to say before was I was downtown on a day pass and this kid who cannot speak much english says to me "HEY NIGGER" I was shocked at first and he saw I looked pissed and I wish he could of understood that to say that is bad, but he was maybe 6 years old.The same thing happend to me in BOSNIA last year and instead of a young kid it was a teenager and we went over and had a talk with him with our translator to let him know none of us were happy with what he said. The poor kid was a little nervous because now he had 6 black soldiers surrounding him with one translator and all of us were carrying our M-16's ready to rock but I would never take the law into my own hands because I do not want to go to prision, better to talk to them and let them know how we feel. Rizzo, I understand your dillema, but realistically this word will be here to stay. Listen to any rap song and they say nigga over 20 times per song. All the young kids listen to this music. I worked at the YMCA last summer and ALL of the black kids 6-10 years old, all spoke ebonics and called each other "niggas".

Once the kid gets educated and realizes they won't get a good job speaking ebonics, they will hopefully change. All the blacks I know at my college are well spoken, but all the High school kids I talk to are most definately not.

NATTYMIKE,I understand what you are saying about the youth and them speaking to each other that way but just because they do it does not make it right in my book.
