US activates Missile Defense Shield

The national debt has more than doubled since Bushco took office.

Coincidence?

Some citizens fear the 'new and improved' U.S. more than overseas threats.

Everyone knows that offensive weapons are generally called defensive until they are called into action.

This has what to do with a missile defense shield?

And how exactly is a system which targets missiles offensive?

At the same time, when Clinton was in office, the internet boomed and helped erase most of the debt. Not like any other president couldn't have done the same.

People seem to foregt that the market bust (5 trillion lost) and the accompanying recession happened on Clinton's watch

Have they had a successful test of that system yet?

Someone posted an excellent link earlier in the week documenting both the success and failure in the testing.

Yes it has been successfully tested several times. But there have been failures as well.

Having followed this project since the 80's Im just astounded at how far it has come from its initial conception. What they have done to date was thought impossible less than a decade ago.

The don't forget, they just like to overlook the fact that when the current administration took over, the previous administration's failures.

It's amusing how the loss of 5 trillion on the part of Americans was thought to be of no consequence which couldn't possibly have any impact on the economy.

Politicians..

They ALL suck !

But I must say, this is good news for my 401K plan if they continue deployments

I am not one of the 'they' you are referring to. I remember what happened under Clinton. IMO, it's not as bad as whats going on now. Not a liberal or a conservative either.

Who are they shielding? What countries are they shielding from?
It's a waste of american money to "protect" other countries from a threat which is not credible.
