Urologist UPDATE

Saw the Urol yesterday (saw his PA). She tells me to stop taking the Gel now and will retest mid month of NOV. She is hoping the levels will be low enough for insurance to cover it. I ask her what if levels are above normal, she says we will then goto injectable. I asked her what they do, she states they do 250mg (1.5ml) every 3 weeks. I told her everything I have read states 1 shot per week, she states 1 every 3 weeks follows body natural cycle.

Qny suggestions?

find another dr..my doc started out with androgel..test still low..went to one injection of test cyp.200 mg every 4 weeks ..test still low,then every three weeks.. test still low,then two weeks..guess what test still low ..then to 300mg every two weeks.but he would not budge on weekly..nor would he let my wife do the injections..she is a nurse..found another doc and now my wife sticks me every week 200mg last test..my test was in the 800's..

I just went to an endo for the first time last week, he put me on 100mg/wk split into two shots a week, said that is the only way to get steady levels. I'd find a new doc if I were you.

Do a lot of reading..and research..it took me probably 3 years to get to were im at and still not satisfied..hate the injections..so my doc suggested implants..dont know if I want those tho..so I'll stay with what i have..find a compounding pharmacy in your area..call them..oe the one I found had an e-mail..they turned me on to one dr in the area that was prescribing test for HRT..but he didnt take insurance..so I kept looking

Blood levels will drop drastically about 10days after injection. 3 weeks is too far out.
If they let you do you own injects you can tweak that to your needs.

find a new doc asap, or at least try to convince them to give u the test and let u pin urself so u can divide the 250mg to weekly shots. try to ask them for more than 250mg, u need at least 100mg/w.
