UPS tracking says Exception.... am i clear??

ok, i started a post the other day on how my chinese express package was sitting at ups for the past 6 days. well today it finally was updated on the website and said that the status was EXCEPTION. then it said that the package was in china again... does this mean that they sent it back because they didnt know what it was? thats my best guess.. anyone have this happen to them or could tell me what this means? thanks guys!
 
Nothing to worry about bro..

I worked at UPS for 5 years, from loading trucks to supervising the people who train them, etc...

An exception is a misload, whether it be a package that was loaded into the wrong truck and wound up at the wrong package center or a package that was left in the building after all of the trucks left for the night...

Keep an eye out, the status will change once it is scanned in a new location..
 
They will resend it..

what normally happens is a sorter was getting too many packages than he could handle so he just threw it into any slot... then a loader didnt check the package before loading it and it wound up somewhere it shouldnt be..

once it is here, they unload and distribute all of the packages they can use, then they scan the left over packages as exception.

The exception packages are then left for the next sort, where they either send it to a main hub to be resorted(and risk this garbage all over again) or they send it to the place they got it from..

It sucks because packages can get lost in the shuffle for awhile.. I was a sorter and would see the same bad package come down my belt day after day... I would write on the package (DO NOT SORT TO FLORIDA, THIS GOES TO XXX) and they would still send it..
but China/US is a pretty big air operation at UPS so you shouldnt have any problems..
