So I am getting this done today and very nervous for some reason - Never really had to be put out for anything before and I havent been able to eat since 8 last night!!! Anyone else ever get this done?

I had one done late last month.

It's no big deal, as they knock you out, do the procedure, and the next thing you know, you're waking up in the recovery room with a sore throat. Although I didn't have much of a sore throat.

Just be sure you have someone to escort you home from the procedure. The outpatient surgery center my doc used wouldn't let me leave unless I had somebody waiting there for me to take me home.

Also, I don't remember how long it took, but it couldn't have been more than 20 minutes for the actual procedure to take place.

I've not had one but know a lot of people who have. Don't fret it! Good luck though. I hope they figure out whatever they're looking into.

Im not going totally under - getting something consiousness? Suppose to be concetrated demoral that everything should wear off within hour - Told me I dont need someone to take me home

relax, it isnt a bad procedure at all, its just very invasive/uncomfy if your awake. theyll dope you up with something that will knock you out enough so that you dont move/care but youll be able to respond to voice commands etc.

chiiiiiiiiiiiiiill bro, chiiiiiill

ive had one....and its not so bad....just be glad they are going in that way instead of the OTHER way.....its alot more pleasant than the other way:)
good luck sweety

sc4eva and freeballin are tow of my favorite people on EF. just fyi. also, I ain't :sawastea:

Speaking of favorites, I am planning a trip to NYC in September. I'll keep you updated as things move along.

SC - I also had one done a couple of years ago with me mildly sedated. I hated it. I have a high gag reflex, and it took the doc forever to get the tube down my throat. Plus, I felt like shit after it was all over.

I would suggest that you get fully knocked out, it's much more pleasant that way.

well im honored =)

But anyway had it done last week - was not a big deal at all - Didnt go under - Sprayed some numming liquid in throat - I laid down - gave a quick shot of demoral - and down the thing went, was done in about 2 minutes. According to doc there was no ulcers so he made me go get an ultrasound afterwards - which I felt totally werid about but was in the Time Warner center so that was ok =)
