update (and insurance...)

Thanks everyone for the advice here, it has come in handy. I'm 47, low test went from doc to doc... My current doc had me on clomid for a while and it did seem to raise my test levels but didn't really give me the boost I was looking for. I went in yesterday and he prescribed 200mg/wk cypionate. Had to pin myself in the office (with sterile water) to prove I could... Anyway - I get to the pharmacy and they tell me they can't put the order through because my insurance won't pay if the dose is greater than 1 month supply. Pharmacist spend 30 mins on the phone with them and they couldn't get it done. Instead of a 10ml bottle they want me to get a 1ml bottle and come back every two weeks to get a new one (and a new co-pay). Friggin crazy! So I'm now trying to get them to let me get it mail order - how do you guys deal with insurance???

I asked the doc about an AE and he said come back in a few months and we will test you, if you need it we can take care of it. Also asked about keeping my boys plump and he told me to take a 1/2 tab of clomid a few times a week and that should do the trick.

So that's it for now til I can get the paperwork (and hope the approve) so I can mail order...

Not sure about taking Clomid for testicular enhancement or should I say testicular preservation...perhaps the senior mods would be able to give a further opinion.

I have been led to believe that hCG is THE thing for that...and the only thing...

Hannes is correct HCG is the way to go. I do not deal with insurance but I can see youre in a tight spot there. if you had some Test on the "side" you could compensate that way. Otherwise perhaps work with your doc and the insurance and see if they can provide the 10mg bottle. dealing with insurance sometimes is a hassle. You should call them as well.

clomid isnt gonna cut it, need hcg or hmg.

As for insurance, I pay out of pocket, insurance is a frickin scam. They will dish out 5k for an MRI without blinking an eye if I complain of aches and pains but wont pay piddly for test, the industry is joke.

Years ago I went through an online clinic to get test the "legal" way. IIRC, test wasnt all that expensive. Why not just pay out of pocket?
