Here is my #2 public service announcement on site injections:
Yesterday I did my first bicep injection in my left bicep and everything went fairly well. I noticed some visable swelling within a few hours, and my left arm looks a little bigger. The swelling is not even, you can tell it looks a little funny when I look at it under the right light.
Today I did my right bicep for the first time and it didn't go quite as well as the left. The needle (5/8") went in fine, I injected much slower this time but it still was fairly painful. I pulled back at the start, and everything was ok, but 3/4 of the injection in about two drops of blood came into the syringe after I eased up on the pressure. I was like oh fuck, so I pulled back on the plunger and no more blood, so I pushed the rest of the stuff in. Then I decided to lay down real quick, just incase I did go into a vein, but it looks like I didn't. I doubt I went through one, I think it was from moving the needle around because I was a little nervous from the ECA I took earlier in the morning.
For those of you thinking about doing site injections. Two days in, and it's not bad at all. My arms feel very sore, but nothing worse than the day after a brutal workout, and it didn't seem to affect my workouts.
Tomorrow: Left Tricep.
