Unemployment "issues"

Nothing can ever be simple, can it?? I mean really, how difficult does stuff have to be??

I got laid off effective June 1 and due to my layoff I get a guaranteed 66 2/3% of my weekly base salary from my company......they pay me the diff between the 66 2/3 and what unemployment gives me.....

Well unemployment said I was getting X dollars then after a month, changed it.........just got a month's worth of my IPP today from my company which is now overpaid as unemployment reevaluated me so now I have to cut a check back to my company for what they overpaid me....

Whew! Why couldn't unemployment have just given me the right amount in the first place?? I'm glad I'm getting something, but this has turned into a hassle....

sucks that you gotta work for that money, doesn't it? they don't make it easy.

when i went on unemployment, i got sent a letter a few weeks later that wasn't very friendly. it was unemployment basically accusing me of being full of shit and making a false claim. there were some things i had to fill out and send back in to them. i called to find out why i was getting such a letter. the woman on the other end says (real nasty too) "well if you had been honest with us in the first place, you wouldn't have this problem now would you?" i fired back with the fact that i had been honest, and was told by 2 people in the unemployment office (one a supervisor) that my claim was legit.

i filled out the forms they had, along with the time, date, and name of person that i had spoken to that was extra nasty and making acusations was put in the remarks section (along with some other comments about the situation). it was completely uncalled for on her part. i called unemployment a week or so later to ensure that they got the forms i had to send back, and they did. hope that dumb bitch i spoke with lost her job.

i'm kinda glad i'm not on unemployment anymore. it was just a bridge to fill in the financial gap between losing my job and starting school.

what did they claim you lied about?? That's weird.....

I can't wait till unemployment ends & I can just get the whole thing from my company -- I hope that will be easier....

I will be drawing workmens comp for a few weeks...funny, I talked to my boss yesterday, he didn't give a word of support or sympathy about my injury. I hurt myself on his job doing something I was supposed to do and now I get the cold shoulder, not even a minor "how you doing"...I feel dissed.

i was released from my job for medical reasons. what that meant to the unemployment system was that my employer was not able to provide me with "light duty" work to meet my medical condition. i wasn't refusing work, i was more than willing to work, they jsut were not willing to let me. unemployment wanted a clarification from me on it i guess to see if my story matched my employer's, which it did. that bitch on the phone, however, didn't deserve to have her job....making accusations when she had no clue.

it all worked out though. i ran out of unemployment and began collecting the GI Bill. now i'm just getting paid to get educated, and it's money that i earned, not a freebie. i've talked to some people that seem to think the GI BIll is a freebie, but the only thing i tell them is i gave up 4 years of my life in the Marine Corps to get that money, and if they want it, they can do the same thing. since the general response is "uh, no thanks" they realize real quick that nothing is truely free.
