Unanswered insulin question!!!!!!!!!

How can u tell if your insulin is still good? Mine doesn't expire for another year, but it hasn't been in the fridge for a long time. It still looks perfectly clear. The only thing is, that I don't feel anything after I take it and I've gone as high as 17iu's. But I also way almost 300. What's the highest amount I should take without being in danger?

if your insulin is still clear it is probably still good, insulin usually turns yellowish when it goes bad. if you are really worried about it...get more. it is really cheap. or you can inject 20-25 units and dont take any sugar...when you start to feel it take the sugar so you dont pass out.
