You guys are forgetting that Dunblane for all of its
atrocity was an ISOLATED INCIDENT.
What about Hungerford?
How is banning guns altogether going to make-up or
solve what happenned in Dunblane?
Nothing can make=up or solve the murder of a bunch of kids.
The answer is that it isn't. Why? Because a person
could just as easily used an unregistered
hand-gun.
But he didn't - he used legally owned weapons. He was a scoutmaster who would not have purchased an illegal gun. He would probably have tried to do the same with a weapon tha the had with him - maybe a knife.
Also, by banning guns altogether you create quite
the black-market.
Ther was already a black market. Criminals do not want to use legally owned guns as they can be traced. The black market (for criminals) was already there.
1. Crimes invoving guns has gone up.
And gun crimes wouldn't have risen if guns were still allowed in the public? Yeah right!
2. Tax-payers are out £90 million
The vast majority of tax-payers are the ones who raised the outcry to ban the guns, so they knew they'd have to pay.
3. The street pushers are generating more profit
through the sale of guns.
Not from people who owned guns legally before and weren't criminals. Law abiding gun owners now don't have guns. They would never get them from street pushers. Also street pushers always catered to criminals.
4. All the guns now in existance are un-registered
and therefore UNTRACEABLE.
And I'm sure that the guns that criminals were using before were tracable to them?
5. The governement loses tax revenue from the
sale of guns.
Not much in the UK.
6. Another one of our rights is curtailed.
The majority of the population wanted it, so they got it. If you don't like it you can always move to a country where the majority do want to have gun ownership legal. Or should the majority of the public bow to your views?
More crimes are being committed today than before.
And this is due to guns being banned - WHY?
And before you say that this increase is lineary related to the average increase every year, IT IS NOT.
Its actually higher.
