Two Insulin Questions...

Paulos

1. Does prolonged Insulin use/abuse cause one to become insulin dependent?

2. Is Insulin what causes that disgusting gut on alot of Pros, or is that GH?

There were some rumors about it but no proof. You would need to use a LOT to even test out this theory and for a very very long time as real diabetics take a lot. I believe they take something lik 100iu+ for day in day out, at least this is what a couple diabetics did on this board.

It's the gh, no diabetics have the problem and they use way more insulin than any bodybuilder. GH causes it cause it supposedly increases size of organs.

Alright cool..Thanks SK.

I agree with what sk has said.

1) You aren't on slin long enough to become insulin dependant. The shorter acting insulins especially mimick the body's natural insulin spike response to carbs. Since with log or R your body is only being exposed to insulin for a short amount of time there should be no problems with insulin dependance. Especially if used for only 4 weeks and only 4 or 5 times a week.

2) It's the GH- gh can increase size of hands/feet/head... and also the internal organs.

Yeah I agree with sk. However there is no study to conclusively tell that prolonged slin use will cause a dependence. I believe people- especially on this board- follow logic. Prolonged exogenous test= test for life. Prolonged exo T3 means T3 or synthroid for life. This reasoning tends to conclude that overuse/abuse of slin will cause physical dependance. I've used Humalog for a few weeks at a time and haven't noticed any changes months after usage cessated. I've done alot of reading into insulin supplementation (my daughter is Type1 diabetic) and believe it can help here. Only problem is there's very little research into the use of slin in healthy individuals.
