two cycles a year?

I guess this depends on your perspective. Franco Columbo said it's probably best and "most safe" to do one cycle a year - work your ass off to get in the best condition possible (read post-competition) and use that one cycle to put you over the edge. On the other hand, those seeking the greatest mass gains in the shortest possible time would benifit from multiple cycles in a year. Obviously, the more cycles you do in a given time frame, the greater risk you take. I think a good rule of thumb for safety purposes (besides cycle design considerations) is to take off twice the amount of time your cycle lasted. Of course, having said this, I am taking off the same amount of time I spent on before my next cycle.

Well 2 cycles a yr. don't sound like alot. But think about it, 2 12 week cycles every year means your on 6 months or half the year.

This is something I have a bit of experience with. Originally, I did one cycle... and then didn't do another for a couple years. I found that that one cycle definitely lifted me up so that I could go on to new levels, make higher gains, and reach a greater plateu. Then I did my next cycle after I had peaked out for more than a year and came up another permanent step on the ladder. After that I started hitting regular cycles 2-3 times a year... and sometimes for 5-6 months on at a time. I found that if I was in a range to make cumulative gains (which most people are) one cycle a year was an excellent stepping stone. Then when I wanted to make huge gains, lift VW's, and scare small children... more frequent juicing was needed.

If I was in my 20s, I would juice on the installment plan... one cycle a year.
