Humm that reminds me when the Canadian army was going to change their old UH-1 Iroquois, the Black Hawk was not even considered (price wasn't an issue). I never really knew why, but maybe its reliability was the problem.

The blackhawk is a very good helicopter, they were designed better for crashes also-example: their seats are held up by wires that take the brunt of a crash landing and break away. It's the fact they are in an enemy flyzone, their upkeep requires more down time than fly time like all helicopters, and they are now flying in a sand blaster. Ever notice they are quieter than the old Uh-1's, it's the blade layout, more blades=less required spin=less noise from the tips of the blades breaking the sound barrier.

The main problem with the blackhawk is that its easy to spot and easy to hit. They are cool as hell, but Id rather go in a Warthog myself.
