ok so since I hooked up this computer in my room, which has no internet access yet so I've been dickin around with old cd-rom games I had.

I'm trying to install Sim City 2000 and it says I have to goto ms-dos setup

so I goto Start on my desktop and click restart in ms-dos.

in ms-dos I see c:windows>

so I typed \ and it brought me to only c:>

I need to get to d:> and the book says just type in d: but that doesnt work.

I need to have d:> and there i type INSTALL

any help for the jackass....

what the fuck...everyone chats about Jerkbox eattin his frickin Omellete but no one seems to care about my computer troubles?

I haven't seen Simcity in a long time. It might work if you just open a DOS command prompt from within Windows. Either way D: may not be your cdrom drive letter if you have a big disk that's been partitioned. What version of Windows do you have? This definitely won't work with Windows Me.

When you bail to MS-DOS it has to load a CD-ROM driver. (Ah, the glory days of MSCDEX.EXE.) Watch it boot and see if it mentions a drive letter -- it might be D: or as mentioned above, it might be something else, or there might not be any driver loading up and you're screwed.
