Trying to find Practical Periodization thread (non-plat search useless)

I'm trying to find a thread from a while back, but the non-plat search is a joke. Can a plat help please? I know it's a bit cheeky asking, but I'm not paying for plat to do one search.

The thread talked about the progression in the first few years of lifting, based around Mark Rippetoe's programs and the 5x5. It went from Rippetoe's 3 PRs a week program, to single factor 1x PRs a week, then maybe 3-4 PRs every 6-7 weeks as you keep having to reset the weights, then ultimately to dual factor where you get 1 PR every 8 weeks. The thread more than likely mentioned Practical Periodization, so a search for that ought to find it (I'll search through the Practical Periodization results manually).

Many thanks.

Damn you, giving me a link to one of my own threads :lmao:

Thanks, but no. I think madcow made a post that described how progress slows over time, so you go from being able to set multiple PRs per week down to one every few weeks. It doesn't really matter to be honest, but thanks for the help.

Must spread k around again...

Unfortunately, no. Don't worry, it's ok. Thanks for the search.

Incidentally, I noticed on Lon Kilgore's site (from your 4th link) that Practical Periodization is due out in July. I was hoping early 2006 meant Jan/Feb. :(

Must spread k around with everyone it seems...

Thanks guys. I haven't found the link I was looking for, and I think it was a post on here, but it doesn't matter - the Core interview, 'Training Progression Over Time' article and the 'TRAINING NEW LIFTERS' article are better. Many thanks!
