I was going to stay out of this but this is about as ignorant and fucking stupid as they get. You pay much attention to the boards? Maybe you didn't hear of scammers setting up fake email addy's close to some of our mods real addys and using them for refs? Most people wouldn't think to check that. Some people might see some popular refs listed and not even check because of that. Wake the Fuck up...Does your mommy know you play on the internet?
Roidog, first I'll give you the common sense answer, sources use false ref's hoping that you are too stupid to check up on them, as many people don't. Second, on the cool thing, maybe you should read your own posts before you reply cuz you were the one bragging that others on the board think that you are cool. I personally don't give a fuck, which was blatanly obvious from my last post. Now get off the boards and go argue with someone in person. I can't stand people who act like smartasses on the net then walk around with the tail between their legs in person.

All Im saying is that I DID get a list from a guy recently, who I KNOW is a selective scammer at best(and Im not naming names, but if I did YOU all would know who I mean & realize that he is selective as well), and he uses the name of at least one of the mods email addies from this board & LET ME ASSURE YOU THAT IT IS THE SAME ADRESS!!! Im also sure that the mod. in question KNOWS that the guy is selective by the TON of negative posts about him at other boards, which Im just gonna assume he frequents.

You bring up some valid points which is very possible roiddog and that stuff could happen in the real world and perhaps it may with a few somewhere (hopefully not here.) But ever since I became a mod at triedia.com I have a newfound respect for the mods as it can be exhausting with all the emails, pm's, researching to answer q's, checking refs to recommend sources, checking refs to give sources out to members, etc.
When I recommend a source, I sincerely hope every time things turn out ok. It is beyond my control. If I find out he turns bad I will take the appropriate action. It's hard work let me tell you. I think most mods (hopefully all) deserve recognition for the work they do.

Well I can say with great pride that I have never taken free gear from any source. I think I've been on the board the longest and I don't know of anyone who has taken great advantage of their mod status, if they did, I would be the first to get them booted.
What some of you don't realize is that alot of sources will say that so and so backs me...which is not really the case. I get several dozen mails a week stating that so and so says that I use them....most of it is all BS. You also have to pay close attention to the email addy's that these people give you. About a year ago there was a bogus bigpapapump touting himself as me, his email addy was slightly different, had it not been for a another board informing me, its hard telling how many people he could have scammed.
And least ye forget that even the mods get scammed at times. Who can we bash and blame ?

I really have no idea if roiddog has a legitimate beef or not, since the allegations he has made are so vague, and this flame war has gotten out of hand.
It seems to me like you have gone this far, why not come out and name the individuals you suspect have done something wrong?
With very limited exceptions, I think the mods here are great guys who do an essentially thankless job. If guys like mustang 18, stewmeat, or Huck (just as examples, I could list several others), were to get free or discounted gear, I wouldn't feel they had done anything wrong. I would be glad that they got something as some partial compensation for their tireless efforts.
