I've heard this before, not just to my ears but from friends both male and female reporting a conversation.

"I like you but I don't want to change my life!"

I guess I have a thought or two on this and felt maybe I could speak to it now as I seem to always miss the opportunity to say something. I don't want to change your world! I like your life the way it is, if it changed I would be concerned. Why is it that now a days we have become so concerned with preservation of our own little worlds that to permit someone even a 'visitors' pass would somehow violate the structure we've impossed. If I love you I love you for who you are, and I have no intention of trying to change that on any level. It is the 'life' that has probably attracted me to you in the first place. If I remade everyone of my friends I suspect strongly that I'd no longer find them interesting. If you remake your lover have you not infact changed them to something that is now longer what you were initially drawn to?

Funny, we'll do these things with our friends but when it comes to our lovers or significant others we try and develope a new set of rules.

If anyone that supposedly cares for you keeps you so distant so as not to allow you to impace them, then how much can they REALLY care for you?

My husband just up and LEFT his job - one that paid him bout 2 million a year because he wanted ME to be IN HIS life... THAT BADLY. He had always had very lucrative positions but had to travel a lot so he learned from his past mistakes.

I am still in awe at how much my husband sacrifices for my happiness - a far cry from my first husband, a man who is selfish beyond imagination.
