ALso... one of the guys on the show (the dark kid) was in a pool trying to jog... what does that do for you?

the jogging in a pool is kinda like wearing a parachute when sprinting..it's resistance

the bodybuilder lost his show because he had no hams. he was a no-squatting sissy-nanny. i only saw him on machines

I jsut got done watching that show too. It was pretty interesting that all the MTV cameras focused on was his upper body, and even then mostly chest, abs, and arms. Just one quad shot plus the rear lat spread they showed him doing on stage. Other than that, no focus on or mention of lower body, kind of like most people in the gym.

I watched the show and thought it was pretty good as far as showing how "true life" is for a bodybuilder when preparing for a show.

Would you guys be as critical of this guy if he was a member of this board and looked that good and was NATURAL? I thought he represented himself very well.

I think he looked pretty good....hard work when u natural....it looked like he really busted his ass and was in pretty good shape.Too bad finished third...also his face sucks!!

Man he was dedicated and trained hard, did the diet and looked good....we really shouldn't hate on that. He was a little misguided with some of his training and diet but who knows maybe he'll get there.

The whole "exercise video" thing looked like softcore gay porn though......lmao

Why is everyone talking about the bodbuilder and not the football player? I thought the football player was much more interesting. He trained hard and ate big.

because there is nothing bad to say about him....big strong kid doing all the right stuff.....now get a pretty boy with some pro tan and a six pack and out come the flames....lol

I like the fact that he ate that whole chocolate pie at the end.

Maybe he does read the forum and knows about Swaining. :)

No, if he was a member they would all be sucking his cock. But since he's not, the only thing they have to hate on to make themselves feel better for not even looking like they workout is to say "ah the fag doesnt eat whatever he wants, I wonder why.. this is bodybuilding",
"stupid fag, didnt even see his legs. Why wasnt he the camera man?"

I just saw a little, but had a pretty good build. I didn't catch his age or how long he'd been traiing, but I'll bet it's less than most here that think they know everything and yet he ACTUALLY LOOKS like a bodybuilder.

i look like a bodybuilder........... just a fat one that's off-season who needs to step up the cardio and lay off the krispy kremes

Everyone? :lmao:

You're a funny guy.

yes show me one guy on here that puts his physique to shame.

only a couple come to mind that could come close to him

needsize and pitbullstl and quadsweep

other than that he has no competition here.

give the man props, especailly since hes natural!

im shure eventually he will get his dieting on point, he definitly has the dedication to stick to such a strict diet and get that lean without juice, i cant say the same for any other "natural" on this board. prove me wrong

it looked like he was carbing up right before the show on a jelly doughnut or somethin. if he could have done an extra week of smart dieting he could have won. its all about conditioning not neccessarily size IMO. whomever is the most shredded usually might win

I wouldn't diss how the guy looked, but, he did have weak legs. Also, who says he's natural? He did. Guess who else says they're natural. Every other bodybuilder to ever be on tv. It's not acceptable. Ronnie Coleman told Jay leno he was natural, at 275 lb's and 5% bf. lol.

Is this MTV show coming on again, or are this guy's pictures online?

What did he weigh? I gotta tell you, unless he was a really good heavy or decent superheavy, I rather doubt he'd totally put me to shame in top shape. He's gotta have an offseason too, y'know.

That said, it does sound like the poor guy might be catching a hard time. A machine-oriented routine isn't what I'd call ideal, but in his defense, it isn't quite the end of the world; and the leg shots and such would be at the show's discretion, not his.

Still, being featured as he was leaves the guy open to plenty of criticism. That's unavoidable. And people are free to judge another's muscularity, even if they themselves aren't sporting a superior physique. (Look at it this way: how many judges at the Mr. O could hold a candle to Ronnie? Shit, how many could compare to the dude who comes in dead last? :) )

Also, he said several times he was eating 1200 calories a day. I'd say, judging by that, that he's on a pretty hefty amount of drugs to maintain muscle w/ that restricted of a diet.

Christ Almighty...

1,200?!?!

Unless he was a freakin bantam or *maybe* a lightweight with a super-slow metabolism, I definitely don't buy that he's natural--not unless he lost like 20 lbs. of muscle prepping for his contest.

jeff he said he was offseason. He obviously has a TON more muscle than the guy on mtv, just not ripped now. On to the bigger picture, why do you find it hard to believe that the guy on tv isn't one of the best physiques ever to grace anyone eyes? Is it because of the way you look perhaps, that makes you so determined to say things about exodus and the rest of the board?

To clarify to everybody, I'm not knocking ANYONE for using drugs, I'm on a cycle right now, I just wanted to point out that this guy is most assuradely on something so that the people spouting that he's natural would think twice. And btw, he was in the area of 170-175 probably, middleweight. And, btw, at the estimated bodyweight, 1200 cal's is his BWx7, try that w/o drugs and see if you don't turn into Tracy Gold!:D

i could give a shit right now about how i look interms of weather or not my glutes are striated, or i have cross striations.........

if i dieted down, and i can becuase dieting is easy, (at least for me compared to gaining)... i could be ripped up at 200lbs. i actually am supposed to be competing in the alabama state bodybuilding contest tomorrow. but i dropped a 45lb bar on my foot, broke my toe, went 2 weeks later to kentucky, trained 1 day with Bfold and other strongman. and realized i have more fun eating what i want, lifting big weights, and having a good time. i doubt you have ever stepped on stage, but if you have, then you know the last 3 weeks of a strict 12-16 week bodybuilding diet (drug free that is) is hard as hell and no fun. the day of my last contest i was so depleted that i could hardly stand up inbetween the morning and evening show. and everyone of my muscles cramped up and was in extreme pain the whole time i was on stage...........

now tell me a reason i should get down to that condition for what......... to prove to you that i do have a good physique. well here's some news........... you dont have to have under a 30 inch waist and have veins poking out everywhere to have a great physique........besides........ i know of hardly any real serious, and real good bodybuilders who hold that condition for more than 2-6 weeks.

there is more to life than having abs and being so hungry to not appreciate it.

Hope your not telling me to relax. I just pointed out the guy wasn't natural, and asked you why you thought this guy was so special. Sure, he looked good, but, so what, so do 1,000 of the guys on elite, and many more across the country. I just want to know why you think it's impossible that anyone could compare to this guy? Is it b/c you haven't had good results from your efforts?

am i not allowed to state my opinion on how this guy compares. why get so angry because someone doesnt agree with you.

ive noticed that you all guys trained together and are very tight nit. and dont like to accept the outside opinions of others.

being a bodybuilder sucks, because the training IMO is not as hard as their dieting, that is the real bitch. People might disagree with my training statement, so just wait a sec and let me explain. looking at one's physique and working on problem areas by doing extra sets or spot injections to me is easier than going out and hoping not to get crushed or seriously maimed, or get knocked out by some physical blow. But the dieting is the hard part to get that ripped and have some size left is harder than hell, you feel weak, tired and still have to go to the gym. to me it is very unhealthy...

What I look in the off-season is not even close to what I look like during my cutting phase....

There's a difference in feeling and being.

Exodus IS comparable. I've seen him ripped and shredded. I've seen him at inhumanly low levels of body fat.

I've also seen him take a 175lb log and press it over his head 19 times in 75 seconds.

The man is a monster. And he excels at whatever sport he participates in.

Until you can make those claims, I'd think twice about doubting others.

LOL -- ooooh boy.

He WILL be comparable again once he diets down... bodybuilders go through phases... I don't know a ONE that goes around at low bodyfat levels all year round. It isn't healthy for one, and two, you can't add muscle size with out adding on some bulk... and then cutting it down again...

It is a process... Jay Cutler in the OffSeason isn't as comparable As he WAS during his competition state (which he is in now)... but it's a damn sure fact that as sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West... he'll be ripped every year come competition season.

With that being said... I see Exodus' back and it is insanely ridiculous.

ALSO with that being said... everyone has their own idea of "what is comparable". Some people might say Kobe Bryant's physique is better than Exodus's... it's all a matter of preception...

Does the fact that I high jumped over 7' mean I'm a good athlete? LOL

Ok, I'm done here... the fact of the matter is, people can critique.. it is the name of the game. A guy can WIN one bodybuilding contest against STIFFER competition and lose one to guys who look like shit... it's all about the perceived body... for one person to say they can judge all physiques objectively... well... that's just impossible.

By the way, I like pop tarts.

not really, Ronnie in off season can get back to MR. O shape in a few months, just like most athletes can get back to prime condition in about 3 months. The was comparable is only really usable if someone got injured considering Exodus age of 23 I have no doubt if he wanted to compete in Bodybuilding he could do it no problem

I have no doubt about that LS... I guess the point I was trying to make is that if you look at Ronnie in his "off season" mode, you can't say "Well, he was a has been" -- because he can get back to his prime conditioning in a relatively short period of time.

I just checked it out. The dude looks good. His legs look fine too. He won't get his pro card anytime soon, but I thought he had a hell of a physique. And, he was in contest-prep mode, so I see it as no big deal that he was using machines.

Bobybuilding is not my thing right now, training and eating like a BB will not help me accomplish my goals personally, but the guy was dedicated. He was a guy in his mid 20's who didn't drink, ate right, and was in the gym early in the morning. I didn't see his routine, maybe there are some things he should have been doing and some things he shouldn't have, but it is all a learning experience, and we are all learning no matter what our goals. He was dedicated and what he did was his lifestye. I can respect that. I related more to the football player, but the BB definitely is worthy of respect.

It was a one time thing. However, with it being MTV and all, they will replay it more times than you can imagine.

Check your local listings to see when it will be played again.

Thanks guys for taking up for me and the nice words.

revexrevex: I'll try and get some pics up. I don't have a scanner at home but I will try and get some up tommorrow.

Bigbadbootydaddy: I'm 5'10-5'11...probably the shorter of the two unfortunately.

It's part of a series called True Life, where they basically show a glimpse into variuos people's lives. This particular episode is called True Life: "I Want the Perfect Body" I know it was on again today, and it's on tomorrow at least once Saturday, and I think again on Sunday too.

well like any MTV show they do a lotta of doublethink.

Real World is the "real world" in that it is MTVs greatly censored view of real things. Like there was a guy with a fro, glazed eyes and a bob marley shirt on... and in ALL the episodes, not ONCE did they ever show anyone doing drugs not even smokin weed.

Likewise, of course no one on the "true" life TV show "uses drugs." Like Ronnie perhaps.

Anyway, I saw the latter half of it today, and i say give the guy some props. He's in pretty damn good shape and i have no doubts that he will bring up his legs and other parts so that in the future he'll win.

yeah i thought it was pretty good...only 1200 calories is nothing, he drank distilled water too. on a different note, the girl didnt stand a chance, she wore a dress that showed her gut..lol

it was something different for a change

The part that I saw showed he was cutting... I didn't see the start. That's pretty damn low, it takes DEDICATION to be able to still get through workouts with that low ofcalories.. Bodybuilders do eat very little near shows and get extremely weak..

He wasn't that big anyway, I doubt he takes in that many cals... This was right near his show, so it was pretty extreme.

He never said the guy on TV was one of the best physiques ever...OR maybe I skimmed that over.

The guy on TV had a decent physique, I don't know how long he was training though.

Looking at other peoples pics, they really don't compare even to his physique. Most people on this board always pat each others back, seems really bitch like to me. If you've been training for more than a year as a BODYBUILDER (if you train as a powerlifter, dont get mad when someone says a bodybuilder looks better than you) "correctly" then you shouldn't look like you sit on the couch, never move, and eat whatever the fuck you want every minute of the day.

But then, someone will post something about someone who has a good physique or just decent, and people will go all out in bitch mode....People always have to critisize someone to make themselves feel better.

Or in a rare case that someone who actually knows bodybuilding takes SIZE, SYMMETRY, AND LOWBODYFAT posts a pic.. people will say he must use steroids or he's a genetic freak.

Work hard, dont make excuses.

Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, But, I think it takes an insecure bodybuilder(and almost always a small one... w/ the exception of those who are doing multiple contests a year and naturally very lean people) to stay lean year round. You can bet your ass that I'm gonna get a little fat in the fall/winter. I just wonder why that bothers you?

You hate "bitch-ass" pats on the back, but when Bilat says something w/ which you agree, it's okay for you to pat him on the back?

I think this thread is a little more heated than need be, and it's possible you did catch an unduly hard time from some (I haven't read the last few posts). However, you did start out from a pretty shaky conclusion--that a middleweight bodybuilder was likely much superior to all but a couple of people at Elite.

You had to know that'd elicit a...well, strong reaction, eh? :) It IS right much of an overstatement. You had kind of a knee-jerk reaction to the people who were putting MTV dude down, which is certainly understandable.

I think everyone should read my post again... and pat me on the back...
