TRT cypionate troubles

I'm new to the forum so do don't bang on me too hard.
I was diagnosed with idiopathic hypogonadism 2 yrs ago. Doc RX'ed me 150 mg test cypionate weekly. Since I've started taking it I basically feel terrible. Nauseated half the time and a general feeling of being unwell. I work through it at the gym and in life, but am curious if anyone has heard of this or experienced it at what I consider to be relatively small doses.

I've obviously discussed this with my doc, and they've checked estrogen, thyroid, cortisol, other hormone levels, etc, and they really don't have any answers for me.

I'm on testosterone cypionate for hypogonadism also..
I feel fine on it..

But perhaps you should try these solutions:
1- Check your blood-testosterone and free testosterone 1 week after your injection (just before your next shot) See if either is too low..

2- If your levels are fine, try a different ester.. you may try androgel at 5-10g a day.. or Testosterone propionate. Or perhaps Testosterone undecanoate..

What was your total blood testosterone before your treatment?
How old are you?

This can happen. Trick is to find the ester or brand that agrees with you. Or switch to a bio-identical topical. I had no trouble with sust and test p pharm grade.

It was ridiculously low. Total T was 39 and I was 37 years old. Had an MRI to rule out pituitary adenoma. I got my T up nicely up into the "upper normal" range, but I still felt awful.

lion - I discussed changing esters with my endo. He was flexible with dosages, but didn't have much to say about changing esters. He implied limitations on what was available.

That is bullshit, there are tons of esters available.. If all else fails, go transdermal like Androgel or Androderm..

But other injections are available...

Maybe your ( upper normal ) level is not enough? These ranges are only a basic marker for the doctors to go by. How did you feel before doing the cypionate? Really the only difference in testosterones are the salt esters ( ie acetate, enathate cypionate) which determine how quickly you absorb the hormone.

2 weeks on test E and feeling better lately. We'll see how it plays out.

I know this thread is getting a bit aged (couple weeks), but I'm in the same boat as you.

I had rediculously low T as well...did the gel thing for a while but didn't do much...then I did shots and at first i felt like I had the flu. like you, all my other tests checked out but I still felt agitated and almost sick at the same time...its been about 2 months and i feel much better (only on 100mg cyp/week).

I think in my case (also talked to the doc about this) my T was so low for so long, that my body went into shock mode and didnt' know what do do with all the xtra T - my doc agreed and said it happens to a lot of people taking T for the first time.

Maybe time is all it will take for you as well...my .02

Did you ever get all the blood work done? Estrogen? I was using 100 mg cyp per week for 6 month, get tested on the last day before my injection and my level was 981. After my shot it must have been 1600 to 1700. My free t was at 3.4 too. And IM much bigger than you are too! My e was also at 58. You really need to spend the money and get your blood tested at leas once each 6 months. Get it all done.

Good to hear you are progressing well.

In terms of esters; My doc offers propionate & cypionate in addition to topical.

Stay positive and remember there are other options available.
