Tricep problem

Everytime i try to go heavy on ANY tricep exercise i get this searing pain in my elbow and in seconds my pinkie geoes numb,
I tried every excercise ,even cybex machines!! the same thing happens when i go heavy , My question is should i just go light and add more sets with a super slow negative?

Sounds like a tennis elbow/tendonitis kinda thing. If you're feeling that much pain and numbness as well, I'd get it checked out before you do anything. Light extentions won't do much for your tris anyway, plus they could be aggravating the problem.

I would first check to make sure your form is 100% correct. After that I would start going lighter and make sure your reps are slow and controlled. Your tendons and ligaments can only hanlde going heavy for so long and then they need a break. You won't lose any muscle mass by going a little lighter.

I would go see your Dr about it, see what he says, if you get the usual "take some time off" bullshit, then ignore his ass. I find for my aches and pains, an anti-inflamitory like ibuprofin just before I train, then again before I go to sleep when my body does its healing, seems to do the trick.

Doc said i was perfectly ok , i think its just maybe my tricepscant handle the movement

That doesn't sound right. Tricep excercises are normal tricep movements. Just with heavy weight applied. You're not "perfectly ok" if your fingers are going numb during movements like that.

Maybe there is nothing MAJOR wrong, but I wouldn't say you are "perfectly ok".

Pain in the elbow can be worked with...but numbness...I'd think twice about. Do you play lots of video games, spend a lot of time on the computer, ride in your car with the window down and your elbow propped up?

Try to keep all pressure off of your elbows throughout the day. Constantly think about what your elbow is doing and what it is touching.

I had the same types of problems a few years ago...and did not realize how many things that I did during the day that bothered it. When I lifted...I felt the numbness and my fingers would often twitch..
