Tricep exercises

what's the best tricep exercise behind skullcrushers? I can't do these. Everytime i go over 100 pounds it feels like my elbows are going to break.

This happens even with wrist and elbow wraps.

CG bench or dips would be a good choice.

QFT!

Reverse grip bench are another good tricep movement. That being said, if skullcrushers are causing you pain, you may just need to deload a bit.

You dont let the pec and shoulder take the load, from what I can tell. Narrow hands, dont let the arm bend more than 90 degrees.

Sounds like most idiots I see "trying to bench heavy weights". Though to be fair, they can't control the weight.

yeah i had Close-grip bench and Dips way ahead of skulls. However im a 320 pound PL so dips are not an option. lol. currently on 5x5 and just do close grip bench for tri's.

What about plain old triceps kickbacks?

I have a new fave (I just changed my skull crushers to declined skull crushers, by the way, and they are AWESOME) that I've added.

What about overhead rope extensions on a pulley? If you're really good about keeping your elbows in and your entire body aligned from foot to neck, they are really effective, especially with higher rep sets (I do sets of 12-15) and it burrrrrrrnnnns. :D

Can't you at least do body weight? I weight 230lbs and can add another 120-135lbs on for dips so I would not think body weight dips would be too far a stretch for ya.

close g and dips

I started doing skulls with two DBs instead of a BB recently. This was my second week with it, strength is jumping up (obviously - it's a new exercise), but I like it and was def surprised how much I am getting out of it compared to regular BB skullcrushers.
