I need some "negative reinforcement".

The last 9 months I've had a lot of shit going on. Remarried with 2 stepchildren, 2 new dogs, working extra hours for a baby due in March. Gained a few pounds....and I'm going on my 10th year on third shift.
I decided it's finally time. Went down in the basement. Took the clothes-line my wife fashioned to the smith machine. Cleaned all the dust off the roman chair and leg press...

Until i get back in to my routine full swing i will check this thread each day. Please feel free to leave nasty insults and messages telling me how I shouldn't lounge around the house and the sort....

The only negative thing I can think of and I'm guilty of it also but it's sounds good is: How do you expect to succeed in life and be happy if you can't even take care of your own body. Depending on your religious beliefs, you only get one chance. Do you wanna live it as a statistic of the plague we call obesity? When your older, would you rather tell you grandkids that you were just a normal person or someone that was admired and awed at. Your body should be your temple resulting in vanity and confidence. Hey it sounded good in my head:p

Lets see.....you got it easy!.........I have a 13,10 and 1 yr old. 6 dogs, 4 cats, and 2 goats......Oh, and my wife has cancer! Also, at one point I was managing two litters of puppies for 3 months along with doing dishes, homework, feeding animals, laundry, housework and still managed to go to the gym. And, I was working 3rd shift for awhile too! I think thats it, but with my schedule Im sure Im forgetting something.................galaxy

Damn man, I'm sorry to hear that about your wife, all the best with her illness bro.

Bozzman, I have 4 kids all under 11 years old and I just beat walking pneumonia with no meds at all, by choice. That's because last year around this time med's almost killed me for a similar illness. Anyway, I'm so desperate to be in full gear again (no pun intended :)) in the gym I'm starting to lose my mind. Believe me I have the solution: just imagine that for whatever reason you have no possibillity to work out, ever again. How would that feel? To me it's a privilage and one that I don't take lightly. hth

Get the hell out 40! I'm puffing on my ventolin as we speak.

That's right bro, I used AHCC (Active Hexose Correlate Compound), Essiac Tea and finally Grapefruit Seed Extract with an inhaler. I think the AHCC and GSE did the best though. In fact I'm ordering more AHCC tomorrow just in case it decides to show its ugly head again. It took me about 5 weeks and man it feels damn good to not be sick any longer. Good luck with it bro and hey, GET YOUR ASS BACK IN SHAPE! :)

Why did you remarry?

You want insults....lol

You are in enough pain.

I divorced...lost 20lbs and have two young & dumb girlfriends.

My next wife has not even been born yet.....

The first thing that I would ask is how your wife feels about you going to the gym? Is she expecting you home when you are not at work? I know that you said she was using the smith machine as a clothes hanger. Working out at home is a bitch. I think you need to join a gym and pack the gym bag, then go before your shift. Don't use time as an excuse..it's there to use as you choose....

Here is where you guys will scream at me even more. I have a full gym in the basement. Smith machine, preacher bench, lat pull down, roman-chair, and a nice leg machine. All heavy duty equipment. Plus my wife is extremely supportive of me working out (even if I had to go to a gym). She see's that when I don't work I feel it in my health (bad back, asthma) She used to work out with me before she was pregnant. I don't know why the last year has been so hard. I've been on the night shift in a hospital for 10 years ( 5 days a week). I think it's finally catching up to me. I sleep for shit. Have to take Sonota's every now and then. The good news is in about 2 months I will be on days for good.( just in time for the baby)
