I've used it for a neck injury. It worked pretty well on the pain but I can't say I got groggy like on Percocet.
I also used a muscle relaxer called soma.
That made me "high"
SOme people insist it gets them high, and some abuse it hardcore. But the fact is, it is weaker than codeine and the effects are mostly a psychological addiction.
Tramadol is actually a modified codeien molecule, changed to no longer be an opiate, but to still kill pain.
Many people abuse it, and they take tons of it. The bad thing is it barely gives you any feeling, and over 7 grams a day will give 1 in 2 people seizures.

7 grams? Jesus-that's like 140 pills, that much of alot of things would fuck you up.
The max reccomended dose is 400mg (8 tabs) per day.I've taken about that much (300-400mg+/day) for a few days and got weird shock type feelings in my head. Every so often little zap would hit me. I know better now than to tough it out and either get adjusted for my back pain or get something stronger.
Ultram(tramadol) is nothing like vicoden. It does not make you high. What it is good for is coming off vicoden or nubain. Although ultram will not make you high it does kill withdrawal symptoms from vicoden and nubain. You can cycle down on ultram over a few weeks and then be off of the vicoden or nubain without withdrawal.
