training while sick?

what is everyone take on this? i feel my throat starting to get sore....and now i kind of feel a little run down...and that never happens to me. do a quick workout and get out? or skip it...drink some oj...have some chicken soup and see if i feel better tomorrow? fawking hate skipping man...especially when i'm starting to see more progress.
 
Skip it! You are just going to waste your time. Stay low till your better and keep your diet really clean and maybe a bit lower while your sit'in on the couch. Drink lots of water and keep your head up. Don't worry.....your body will get more out of this then it would in the gym. Get better..
 
Try a warm salt water gargle for your throat. I do that whenever I have a sore throat and it usually goes away in a day or two. It's supposed to help kill off bacteria.
 
thanks guys...appreciate it. skipped the gym last night...and prob going to skip today as i still feel kind of lousy....hoepfully tomorrow i'll be back in there ready to go to war...i drank a whole carton of oj last night...god i don't even wanna think about the sugars hahaha!
 
quick question....should i be taking my gluc/sesa combo while i'm sick? i don't have much of an appetite but forcing shit down...i'll be lucky though if i get to 75g of carbs today...should i take them?

Honestly if you are sick, take the day off training ...

You need to eat period .. if you take the supps you may get the sides may not, ... pay attention to how you feel.

If you start to go hypo or dizzy, eat some food, i.e. carbs ...

You're sick= body needs rest period ...

Haven't been sick in a decade myself. ;) But I do feel like I'm coming down with something a couple times a year. I posted it in the diet forum before, but 10-20 grams of Vitamin C spread throughout the day along with Garlic/Ginger/Cayenne capsules, as many as you can get down, gets rid of the "coldlike" feelings literally overnight. No scientific studies to back it up but it works really well for me.....And skip the workout until you feel better. "Don't do today what you can't superseed tomorrow."
 
thx everyone ...feeling much better today..(ended up doing arms sat morning even though i should have prob stayed home) took a bunch of coldeeze and vit c chewables and some advil...did wonders
