Training for the triathlon

Anyone know how i could structure a resitance training program to help condition someone to compete in the triathlon.

Im not competing, but some of my friends are.

You shouldn't focus nearly as much on resistance training as you should on the events. What you should be training in is specific: Swimming, biking, and running. Be training two to three times the milage that you will be competing in. Alternate days of training and focus heavily on running.

I'm a bodybuilder, have done several 75-100 mile bike rides and a 10K run, although not in the same day. I would avoid weight training entirely, with the exception of maybe some swimming specific paddling type motions.
Triathletes are 6' tall, 155 lbs for a reason.

concentrate more on events

lots of swimming

work on doing one, then follow directly with other

do work to help prevent shin slpints

working on diet is very important, he will need the nutrients to recover, or his body may just shut down
